PROOF OF CONCEPT
This whiskey barrel ring with carbon fiber sleeve is more durable than a traditional all wood ring, The Distiller shows off a very distinct grain found in white oak whiskey barrels. Made fresh, you may even smell a bit of the whiskey from years of whiskey aging. This wood is formed to a woven sturdy carbon fiber base to give it some serious strength and durability.
We carefully shape the outside of each Distiller Ring to have a "barrel" like shape just like the cask it was born from. Each ring will exhibit a slightly different grain.
Because we use natural wood, you may see slight variations in your ring from the images here.

As for the ring, the combo mentioned in the title makes it quite fun when there is direct lighting on the ring. It's mesmerizing to play with the ring and watch the twill pattern interact with the light. The gloss gives the CF weave a lot more depth, that's a big win over the standard Ultralight Racer.
Subtle and sophisticated, just how I like it!
I've had this ring for a few years now (I forget when the kickstarter went live), with active wear for 7 years as my wedding band. Due to daily wear and myself not always taking it off before doing various tasks (including firewood, landscaping and other manual labor) there are a few minor chips, but no scuffs or scratches. For what I've put it through, it has more than held up it's end of the bargain.
I absolutely recommend this band. It's incredibly light, and you'll barely realize it's even on.
